Instagram daily DM / follow / like limits in 2026 — what actually works

Forget the round numbers — the real limits depend on 4 things

Every guide on the open web tells you "send 30 DMs/day on a fresh account". That's wrong. Limits depend on:

1. Account age (in days since registration)
2. Account source — autoreg / aged / RDM / immortal
3. Proxy quality — datacenter / shared mobile / private 4G / residential
4. Whether 2FA is enabled and the phone is verified

Combine those 4 and you get an action budget that is anywhere between 0 (datacenter proxy = instant checkpoint) and 300 DMs/day (immortal aged + private 4G + 2FA).

The numbers we actually use in production

Add a flat 15 % bump if 2FA is enabled with phone — IG's behavioural model treats 2FA accounts as "real users" by default.

Pacing — the part everyone gets wrong

Sending 100 DMs in 30 minutes triggers IG's burst detector. The same 100 DMs spread across 8 hours, in 3 sessions of ~33, with 1-minute jitter between sends, does not. IAM's Mass DM → Schedule tab is where you set this.

Rule of thumb: cap_per_hour = daily_cap / 8. Below that you're invisible to IG's rate model.

The "requires_more_actions" cliff

If IG returns requires_more_actions even once, halve the cap for 48 h. Continuing at the original rate triples the chance of moving to UFAC selfie.
