Glossary — Instagram automation jargon, plain-language

Every term we use in the course and tools, decoded. If you've ever wondered «what's UFAC actually» or «what's the difference between aged and RDM» — start here.

Tip: type anything — we match across the term, summary and full description.

A

Account survival rate

% of accounts in a cohort that pass IG's checks N days after launch.

We measure it at day 7 (early signal), day 21 (warm-up done), and day 60 (long-term). Aged accounts on private 4G hit 95–98% at day 60. Fresh autoreg on shared mobile sits at 60–70%. Anything below 75% means proxy or warm-up is broken, not the accounts.

Antidetect

Browser layer that masquerades each account as a unique device.

Randomises canvas, audio, fonts, timezone, screen size and TLS handshake per profile so IG can't link two accounts to the same machine. IAM has it built-in for IG; AdsPower and GPM-Login are stand-alone antidetects you can pair with anything.

Autoreg

Account auto-created via API or SMS — lowest trust on day 1.

30-50% of autoreg accounts die in the first 7 days even with perfect warm-up. The cheap ones are usually re-sells of bulk-created cohorts and IG already mass-flagged the device fingerprint cluster. Ours are minted in-house and validated before shipping.

C

Captcha

The "I'm not a robot" puzzle IG shows on suspicion.

If you don't pre-configure a captcha-solver API key in IAM (Settings → Captcha), the moment IG triggers a captcha the task hangs and the account starts accumulating bot-score until manual intervention. We use 2Captcha and RuCaptcha primarily — both ~$0.50 per 1k solves.

Checkpoint

IG's "verify it's you" wall — phone, email, or selfie video.

First-stage checkpoint (email) is bypassable in seconds. Selfie-video step has ~38% pass rate even with everything done right. ID-upload is the death gate — under 8% pass on non-aged accounts.

Cookie jar

Isolated cookie set for ONE account.

If two accounts share even one cookie (sessionid, mid, ig_did, csrftoken), IG sees them as the same install and trust-cascades a ban onto both. IAM auto-isolates per profile; manual setups need explicit per-account profile dirs.

F

Fingerprint (device/browser)

Unique signature your browser shows IG: TLS, fonts, timezone, screen.

IG cross-references fingerprint+IP+behaviour. If two accounts share the same fingerprint AND the same IP, IG fuses them into one logical user. Even on private 4G a shared fingerprint = bulk ban risk.

H

Headless browser

Browser without visible UI — faster, but IG detects it easier.

Chrome-headless leaves dozens of telltale signals (navigator.webdriver, missing plugins, distorted Canvas). IAM's WEB mode runs a real visible Chromium per account. API mode skips browser entirely — fastest but most aggressive on IG's rate limits.

I

IAM (InstAccountsManager)

Desktop tool for managing fleets of Instagram accounts at scale.

v3.0.8.4+ runs on Windows 10/11 64-bit. 40 MB RAM/account at idle, ~120 MB during active mass-DM. We tested it head-to-head with AdsPower and GPM-Login — IAM wins on accounts/$ for IG-specific work.

M

Mass DM

Bulk direct-messaging, like an email blast.

On a 30-day-aged account paired with private 4G, our farm sends 30-50 DMs/day. Day-7 autoreg = 10-30/day. Spread across 8 hours, 3 sessions, 20-second jitter between sends. Burst-sending 100 DMs in 30 min trips IG's rate detector.

Mobile proxy (4G/5G)

Proxy where the IP comes from a real cellular carrier.

94% account survival vs 0% on datacenter, 62% on shared-mobile, 78% on residential — measured on 50 fresh autoregs over 21 days. Private 4G > private 5G > residential > shared mobile > IPv6 rotate >> datacenter (which is unusable).

O

OFM (OnlyFans Marketing)

Driving traffic from IG to a creator's paid platform.

Per-account economics in 2026: $1 amortised account cost + $2.67 mobile proxy + $0.20 SMS + $0.50 IAM license = ~$4.40 / account / month. Realistic revenue $30-100. Margin holds if survival stays above 75%.

P

Parser

Module that collects username/post lists from IG by filter.

Bad parser output = bad campaign. We never parse a single creator's followers — that list is 30-40% bots. Always intersect 3-5 creators in the same niche; the intersection is 5-8% bots and 2-3× higher reply rate.

R

RDM (Real-Device-Made)

Account registered from a physical phone with SIM — highest trust.

RDM accounts ship with full device fingerprint (real Android model, IMEI, gyro patterns, real WiFi history). Day-7 survival: 95%+. They cost 5-10× more than autoreg but the loss-rate math wins for serious operators.

S

Spintax

Template like {a|b|c} — IAM picks one option per send.

Without spintax, all 50 accounts in your campaign send the same DM text — IG's duplicate-content detector cooks the cohort within 2-3 hours. Goal: every send unique within first 200 chars.

T

Trust score

IG's internal account-trust rating; gates how much you can do per day.

Trust grows from organic-looking activity (login, scroll, watch stories, like 5/day) and crashes from anything that smells automated (rapid follows, identical DMs, suspect IP). The warm-up curve in IAM's Schedule tab is exactly the function that maximises trust gain over 14 days.

U

UA (User-Agent)

String IG reads to identify your device & app version.

If 50 accounts on your machine all report `iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS 17_3 IG 305.0.0.42.110`, that's a single-fingerprint cluster. Real cohorts have ~20-25 device profiles spread across the accounts. Our UA generator outputs that mix in one click.

UFAC (Unusual Follow Activity Check)

IG's escalating verification ladder: email → SMS → selfie → ID.

Pass rates from 18,200 events in our farm Jan-Apr 2026: email 92%, SMS 74%, selfie 38%, ID <8% on non-aged accounts. Once you reach ID-upload — STOP. Each failed attempt trains the model on your fingerprint and hurts other accounts on the same proxy.

V

Viewport

Visible browser-window size IG sees and remembers per account.

Two accounts with identical viewport, identical UA, and same IP = the same install in IG's eyes. Always randomise viewport per profile. IAM does it auto in WEB mode.

W

Warm-up

Gradual real-looking activity to build IG's trust on a fresh account.

The 30-day curve: day 0-1 login + scroll only; day 2-3 + likes & saves; day 4-6 + follow ≤30/day; day 7-10 + comment ≤5/day; day 11-30 ramp DM. Skip warm-up on autoreg = lose 60-80% by day 7. Detailed table inside Module 5 of the course.
